My Tribute to My Dad
A few years ago, my dad began writing his memoirs. His title was “Poor Boy off the Farm”. It reflects the reality of his life story and something of his insecurities as he battled honorably through life. He was far from ‘poor’ in my mind, though he began life in humble circumstances.

We contrast Paul’s sublime teaching of the doctrine of Christ in 1 Tim 3.16 with the gritty reality of dealing with apostates in 1 Tim 4.1-3. The reality is that apostasy will constantly plague the church until Jesus comes. This passage identifies some characteristics of apostasy.

Hosanna! Save Now! (Ps 118:1-29)
This psalm anticipates and "paints a picture" chorally of the coming of our Saviour to Jerusalem to save his people from their sins.
Yielding to God (Rm 6:13)
The third step of sanctification is presenting your whole self and all the individual parts of body, soul, personality and person to God as available for his service.
Today we finish looking at the attributes of Christ as God and summarize the attributes of Christ as man. We conclude by beginning to discuss some of the distinctions orthodox theology makes about how these two natures interact in one person.
Partaking Unworthily (1 Cor 11:27)
What does it mean to take part in communion unworthily? It is not the presence of sin in your life. It is not that you are worthy of partaking. It is not that you aren’t prepared. It isn’t even that you are sure you are saved.
