The Healing at the Pool ()

Don Johnson, October 11, 2017

Part of the Harmony of the Gospels series, preached at a Wed PM service

The healing at the pool of Bethesda escalates the rising tension between the Jewish authorities and Jesus. The healing was on a Sabbath day, which was an offense by itself, but when Jesus justifies his Sabbath work by declarations tantamount to claiming deity, the tension shoots up to a fervid pitch. Nevertheless, Jesus cites witnesses to his claims, something everyone who listens to his message must consider.
