Resisting God’s Provision of a Redeemer (Acts 7:9-16)

Don Johnson, October 22, 2017

Part of the Acts series, preached at a Sun AM service

We continue our more detailed look at Stephen's sermon with a focus on Joseph. The points that Stephen highlights from the life of Joseph have striking parallels with the life of Jesus. These parallels are the point: just as the patriarchs pushed away their brother (whom God had selected to lead them), so too the Jews rejected Jesus. Interestingly, God overrode their rejection and redeemed ancient Israel anyway, just as he one day will when the Jewish nation finally turns to the Messiah.
