Deliverance on Half Throttle ()
Don Johnson, July 29, 2012
Part of the Old Testament Theology series, preached at a Sun PM service
One aspect of God's deliverance in the Exodus is the challenge of delay. God is certainly able to do anything he wills to do, and could certainly have delivered Israel on the very afternoon Moses showed up to announce his purpose to do so. Yet God delayed the deliverance for months, through the ten plagues, then put the people in an impossible situation at the Red Sea, then allowed them to hunger and thirst in the wilderness and finally took Moses away from them for forty days while they waited at the foot of Sinai. All of these delays were for a purpose, which we examine in this message.
