For communion this month, we consider how the Lord saw himself to be come in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, especially Isa 53. This consciousness is seen in various expressions throughout his ministry. This is no cause of shrinking on his part, he came for a purpose and that purpose was wrapped up in suffering. This he came to do for me, and for you.
